The newly planted area at the River Hamble Country Park has been created for staff at Hampshire County Council and visitors, as an accessible and special place to visit – and in particular to reflect on the time of the Covid19 Pandemic.
Taking in the stunning vistas over the surrounding landscapes and river, the area has been planted with 20,000 new trees using experimental planting with climate change resilient species, creating a series of green corridors across the park. Carefully chosen seating areas have been added for visitors to sit and pause, to reflect and connect with the natural surroundings – a truly serene experience, enhanced with a series of Haiku poems along the pathway composed by members of staff, which have been engraved into stones and wooden structures.
Greenhouse Graphics were commissioned to design and produce a series of interpretation boards which are placed at intervals along the woodland walk. They have been designed to inform and engage the visitors, whilst being sympathetic to the natural surroundings and creating a story to follow through the walkways.
The designs of the boards are influenced by watercolour illustrations commissioned for the project which theme carried through each of the designs – creating a soft, natural look and style.
Our oak frames are hand made locally to order from sustainably sourced dried oak, and the printed panels are fully recyclable. The design of the frames is especially created for wooded areas and incorporates engraving to enhance the messaging throughout.
